What car are you planning on taking next year? I have basically scrapped the idea of getting a TRD Supercharged Tundra, or a Nissan Titan (both pickups). If I want to save money to be able to afford one of the two cars I would like to take next year.
Nah. I'd have to bust my ass.. not buy shit this whole year , (probably trade in the S2K) and then pray they give me a loan that big. heh.
does the acronym DIR mean anything to you? I mean other than being able to qualify for a loan that big, do you really think it's a good idea? Pardon my language but the term "hood-rich" could apply if you have to sell off all your shit and not spend any disposable income for a whole year just to be able to have a down payment, then from there you have to pay off the loan and then pay for service and maintenance. I'm sorry but this just seems like you're having to do too much just to be able to afford this loan.

Reason: offensive language

My debt/income ratio would be impacted pretty severely.. but.. this would probably be a shared finance with a very trusted friend, which, together, we could take on the payments without too much issue.
I wouldnt have to sell off "all" my stuff... just get rid of the S2000, which I was planning on anyways.

Just from my experience, many things can be shared between 2 people, but cars are not one of them. Especially a $220,000+ ferrari!!!!

First off. Sharing a loan is a bad idea no matter who it is with. Unforseeable things can happen that could fuck you and your credit. I wouldn't do it, but it's your life. Ball out as hard as you want to. Also, I hope you don't plan on getting a loan for anything else soon. As soon as a bank sees that you have an almost $100K INSTALLMENT loan, they will instantly pass at any other loan you would want. This isn't just my thought, this is a fact.

I agree with you.. however.. as it stands, I am debt free, have savings, with a solid income (and has been for over 5 years), and unblemished credit. As is the person who would be cosigner. I'm not planning on buying anything else soon.. but.. maybe you are right.. no sense in making that kinda puchase unless I have the cash to back it up. Assets are one thing.. stacks of $100 bills under the bed are totally another. (I have very little of the latter)

Word. They do it for business jets... but I doubt for an exotic.
Going from an S2K to a 360 Spider...PIMP, but Tom's right....taking out a 6-figure loan doesn't make sense in my book either. If I go next year, I'll probably bring my M3.

Maintenance, insurance, and finance charges covered by purchasers. They build equity for you. You just have to provide a loving place for the vehicle to sleep... the vehicle you will own in a few years? Yeah, sounds nice to me. THey do offer unlimited mileage, which could add up, if there are crazy bastards who want to drive cross-country. Cars like that lose huge value once they have anything over a few thousand miles a year. Either way, all costs are covered by the fractional owners. Niiice.

"Well, that sucks. That's like a $300 windshield."

Yeah. For the money you would be putting towards that car, you could actually appreciate it rather than have it depreciate. Invest in a mutual fund. Then after a few years you could own that Ferrari free and clear. But I mean. I don't know anything...
should have the .:R32 by the end of the week, so that looks like what i'll be taking next year
however, since i'm not trading in my VR turbo my payments are looking like a paycheck a month (and i get paid every 2 weeks)... ohh well, guess i gotta start saving now for next years rally.... as i'm already several paychecks deep into debt after this years heh
nah dude i dont even have a srt4 i was just reading about it the other day, plus the stage 3 turbos arent even out yet for those. I cant talk crap on anyone here I drive a Lumina for now, but im seriously needing an upgrade but I dont know what to go for, something simple but with just a little kick. Anyone have objections to the new GTO? or should i just go with the srt4
options:
a random friend's car
rental
04 srt4 + mods (saw one in my neighborhood and it made me want one again)
05 evo MR (if it ever comes out)
used sportbike
04/05 honda cbr600something
nothing

Agreed. A bike is faster than (almost) any car. Your ass is gonna be SORE afterwards though. Not to mention: Luggage? rally Stickers? Rain/Inclement weather?
My suggestion is that if we get enough bikes... we should have a bike support vehicle. (trailer for rain, luggage, etc) I'd pay a little extra for that if I brought the crotch rocket.
Much respect to anyone riding a bike that far. My nice comfortable BMW seats left me rough after 400+ miles (granted I am one of the oldest people here). Crouched over on a bike is for the tough.

I wouldn't feel that badly about being a geriatric in this crowd Erin. Anyone older than 24 was in the top 15 oldest people on the rally.
