Default Wheelie cool video!

If the car in the video looks like my S2000, thats because it is (yes, I know. my mirror is backordered). Videography & editing was done by me also.

Get the video here. (click the image of the movie camera to download)

And yes... in case you are wondering.. that is a 2004 Yamaha R1. I stunt my 2004 Honda CBR1000RR too. yeah.. I know... we are crazy.

Bikes in the video:

2004 Yamaha YZFR1 (he can wheelie pretty good)
2004 Kawasaki ZX6R/636 (so can he)
2003 Suzuki GSX-R 600 (we didnt realize, but he ran out of gas on the expressway. ha ha)
2001 Yamaha YZFR1 (this kid is the wheelie king)
2001 Honda CBR954RR (uh... still learning?)

No disrespect intended, but is this why all of the people you know are dying or hurting themselves on motorcycles?

Actually, no. Only one has been killed or injured "stunting". The rest have been standard accidents.

Riding a motorcycle is about 4 things:

Respect (for the machine, the road, etc)
Self control (do you really need to be WFO all the time?)
Mitigating risk
skill

If you don't have one... you will get in an accident. period.

Take the video for what it is... us out having some fun shooting film to entertain the rest of you all.

only? and if i'm not mistaken, didn't he have more experience/skill than practically anyone else amongst you. i'm referring to dan. as far as dom, he did all he could to prevent/prepare for an accident and that was just as unfortunate as dan's situation.

i dunno, two recent deaths and several serious (some near-fatal) accidents doesn't seem to improve the odds for those of you that are still riding.

i'm not saying stop riding, do what you love. i haven't completely ruled out getting a bike, nor would anyone injured or killed want you to stop riding, but argh, its just too much. because blind curves, gravel, speeding cars, drunk drivers, and playground equipment falling off of trucks do occur, as we've both recently learned, you seeing some of it first hand.

Danny was a skilled rider, and stunter. Dom was also a skilled rider, but, as some have so rudely put it on UBRF, took more chances than he needed to (dragging knees on teh street is a HUGE no-no in my book). Wheelieing OR dragging knee, in my opinion, is positively ASKING for a wreck.

Dom and Danny were both friends of mine, and, I know for a fact that neither of them would want me to stop riding. I do, however, mitigate my risk FAR more nowadays. I don't wheelie (as much), run from the cops (unless absolutely necessary), or do other stupid shit.
