On the way into Moab a few of us took an alternate route.
We stopped to take photo's
near the remains of a suspension bridge.
Dewey Bridge was built in 1916
and at the time was the longest suspension bridge in Utah.
It has a fairly interesting history
and in 2000 its condition was restored.
Apparently in '06 a boy playing with matches started a brush fire at a campground that moved up the riverbank and destroyed the bridge.
A local resident snapped some incredible photo's of it burning.
These are the articles and more pictures.

Definitely a noteworthy stop
with an interesting history.
