well this is my first forum ever haha, im only 15 but im really set on joining aKa when i am old enough. I have a passion for cars...but have no clue about them and was wonderin like wat i should prepare for in the rally. i am possibly getting an 06 Tiburon

You should prepare for your DL test.......no worries man its good to see people of all ages showing interest.

yea im good wit drivin, my freind lets me drive his chevy so its all good. but im jus to stoked, like i no its still 3 years but MAN!!!! haha wut an experience that would be. any1 whos already done the rally i would love to here about it! well yea once again any suggestions, im willin to listen

Get you licence and go to race driving school and do local AutoX events thats what I do

autox??? all you peoplz need to be specific ish, im seriously like braindead bout everything exept a cars name and how it looks

scca auto-x. It is a sanctioned racing event where cones are set up in parking lots and you have to go as fast through the course as possible.

I think that SCCA will let you drive a cart before you get a DL. i am not sure how it works but we have an 10 year old who drives here. till you do get your DL (and even after, its great fun) you can do the carting thing to gain some driving skills and a cart is fairly cheap to run.

just make sure you pass your test for the license.

then just try to save up a few grand, get a decent car that can make long trips and you're golden.

Who needs decent cars that can 'make' long trips, its much more exciting getting one where even getting groceries is an adventure!

You have at least 3 years, (maybe 6 if age limit goes to 21) until you can participate, i would worry about losing my virginity if i were you, not what you can do to prepare for the rally with a car & license you haven't even gotten yet.

dude, for 1 already lost my virginity was the biggest mistake of my life, and another i jus like cars and wanted to see wat others felt and see how i could prepare. o yea. world of warcraft is gay, i dont like playing that many games.

Man, I think we could have done without theh virginity statement Wanna_be_a_Racer. But hey, it's a part of being young and full of ewwee Guuuwweee... You've made your mistake, and learned from it. That's great.

But i'm not mad at you dude. I mean we all have to start somewhere. Work on your Eye-Hand Cordination - Gotta be prepared to make a quick move if need be. If you don't drink yet (You shouldn't, drinking leads to bad things, great nights and/or ugly kids). Video tape yourself with a blindfold walking outside, tripping over stuff. Keep doing that for a few weeks.. then post a few of them online so we can check them out... =-)

-Naw, really, just take your time man.. you have your whole life a head of you. Jump on in get your dirty on but don't over due it. The guys above have given you some good advice as far as what to look for in a car and accessories. If you haven't done so already, check out a few of the local car shows, they will give you a few good ideas and when you do get your car and L's you might even find a few sponsors there.

Wow... Dude you have to stick in there.. Don't let one person persuade you not to use your first amendment.. something about speech. If you go through the history of the forum, I can honestly say that everyone has gotten ragged on about at least one issue. I'm one of the more popular annoying cool guys.. OK, let me put it this way; my advice to you would be to continue with what you're doing, but refrain from posting until you've read a lot of the stuff here, especially the FAQ and About sections. One day you'll understand, when you've been in this same forum for a few years and people keep posting the same dumb questions every 2 months because they saw the MTV thing and ran to their puter, instead of looking around for a half hour or so reading older posts and searching for topics of interest.
