Should I buy a 1997 Golf GTI VR6?
I currently have a 1993 BMW 325is. I like it & want to keep it, but I'm looking to get a GTI as a project. It's a stock 1997 VR6 w/ 84K miles on it. The guy wants $5500 for it. Is it a safe buy? Would it be safe to mod it? Nothing really major in the mod department, but I would like to do a little work to it. I've never owned a VW before, so if anyone knows a lot about these VR6's please let me know anything and everything. Maintenance, reliability, etc.
