hey, whats up everyone? first let me introduce myself. my name is Salvatore but i go by Tore and im a 22 year old guy from central nj. i have a few questions for all the people that have done the rally before wich i didnt see in the faq or a few searches i did on the site. basically i want to know how everyone got along being with 100-200 people you didnt know (or know well) prior to the date of the rally. for example, was it easy to make friends? was everyone friendly? etc... the reason i ask is that me and my good friend are close to our final decision on attending this years rally and we just wanted to get some info before i put in the deposit this week on some questions we had. we are almost certain we will be attending this years rally. from what i have read so far on the board you seem like a really down to earth fun group of people that we could see ourselves having a blast with. i have a few more questions but i will wait to post those till i get a few replies on this. have a great day!

Seems like this question will be better answered by some participants, rather than me, but I'll take a stab at it. From what I've seen, everyone really gets along. There are occasional spats of drama, but that's to be expected with any group. 2004 and 2005 were very different events. '05 really showed the benefits of working together as a whole. We had people going ahead, and calling back with reports on road conditions, traffic conditions, etc, as well as people working together to find alternate routes, etc. Overall, I made a ton of new friends, from all across the country, that I speak to on a regular basis.
What colour is your evo? I have a white STi, and a black m3, and I used to live in Yardley, PA. I was in Jersey all the time, until I moved to MD. I am back in the PA area every couple of weeks.
Chris
edit: P.S. How did you hear about the event?

thanks for replying so quickly. my evo is apex silver at the current moment. where abouts in jersey did you go? i live in freehold wich is in monmouth county(if you/anyone has ever been to the freehold raceway mall im about 5 minutes from it).
there are two people I met on the rally that I talk to on a daily basis. I'm not exaggerating - literally everyday. There are probably atleast another dozen or so that I talk to every couple weeks or so. And ofcourse there are others I don't hear from for months at a time, but these are all people I didn't know prior to the rally. I can honestly say that I made some life long friends here. Alex (with the NSX) is coming up to spend a night with us next week and Nico and Karen were here last week with their zoo (it was great!). It's such a fun loving, dynamic crew. Also, I guarantee at least one flash of panty and ass cheeks from my girl Kelly
Yeha, I'm very familiar with Freehold. Spent most of my time in the Trenton/Hamilton area, and often travel on the Tpk up to Cranbury, Edison, and Elizabeth.

oh nice, im up in the trenton area often to visit friends at tcnj. i also get out to edison a few times a month to hit up this diner called the white rose. if all goes as planned im going to be dropping my car off at turbotrix (not sure if your familiar with them in edison) for a little bit of work. take care for now and i hope to meet you in the near future.
Yep, turbotrix is a good shop! They built my buddy's 11 second 2g.
How'd you hear about AKA, by the way?
Talk to you soon.
Chris
i actually saw a show on it (i think mtv's real life and decided to look into it a bit. i signed up a while ago but hadnt actually thought about joining the rally.
good thing you have an evo because going to turbotrix with a subaru wouldn't be a good idea.
you and your friend should definitely make the rally. my friends and i are making a whole 2 week trip out of it there and back to see some friends in la.

im just waiting on word from him to go ahead and pay for the rally. we were thinking of doing something similar if we do the rally. we are going to head out there and spend 2 nights prior in vegas. i wish i could do it for 2 weeks like yourself but i just spent the past 12 days in aruba so im starting to cut into my vacation time at work.
Hey! I registered for the 2006 AKA Rally a few days ago and I wanted to introduce myself here on the forum. I'm Richard and i'm from Dallas, Texas. Anyone else going on the rally from Texas??
I met so many people over the past two years. It is so much fun to meet all the new people, and see familiar faces. Last year I ended up going to chris' place 3 or so days before the rally and he tuned my car, took me to philly for some damn good sandwiches, and even let me drink his booze. He did however not let me get my car detailed by sleeping in.
HHAHAHAH! We were tuning until what, 4am the day before the rally? And we were gonna get our shit detailed that morning? It was an ambitious plan, but i'm not surprised that it didn't work out.

Ahhh, I am feeling loved again. Honestly I feel like I made a bunch of great friends. I am not worried about being the fastest or the sexiest (although I am ) but I really did make a bunch of great friends and I look forward to making many more. Not to mention you have places to stay whenever you travel around the US, no more need for hotels. Right Dale, Right Leecey? Last year alone I've had about 10 different AKA Ralliers stay at my house over the year.
Come on this years' rally, bring a good attitude, bring some dolla bills but I cant promise you as you are swinging naked on the pole you are going to get any money from me. Kelly or Alicia maybe but not me!
