Default Average cost for the rally??

I already know the average cost of the rally is a little north of 3k..

what is the average cost on gas?? I did some calculations for an average from cost to coast and back and came up with around $1400.

I figure and extra 3k for spending money per car???

thats for extra food, beverages, special beverages, and hotel room on the way back.

what say's the vet's?

I would like some projections as well. What does transport cost? Do we get a group rate or anything? What is the average of damage done to the cars? Do some make it without tickets? Do the police let you bail yourself out in this instance?

Gas is fairly easy to calculate on your own. Just depends on fuel economy. The rally one-way is always just under 3000 miles. We had a dedicated enclosed transport last year, and we'll have one this year as well. The most common point that people come from so far is the Northeast, and the group rate for the transport will probably be ~$1300, depending on how bad fuel costs are.

I'll let other participants and the search function address the other questions

Chris

I wonder how many agencies beef up on running radar the days we come through..

is 1300 per car? or is it per carrier?? assuming the 1300 would be divided by how many drivers?

It is per car. To your ticket responce you sound like a masochist. I personally despise traffic cops and want as little interaction as possible. Less delays= Better time. I'm not saying that I won't get one or some. I'm trying for none.

Besides I already have 8 points. 3 of which I assumed this Sunday jumping the median. Defensive driving here I come. I figure I better have a nice cushion for the rally.

some of us manage to not get tickets, but being from PA helps(points don't transfer holla!) Like Chris said the gas is easy to figure out, but you should figure out your average highway MPGs while driving mildly/aggressively plus add some change to the cost/gallon as some places are more expensive.

Then factor in how much you drink, if you plan on going to a strip club, if you want hookers() and how much crap you plan to buy along the way. It's nearly impossible for me to resist drinks and beef jerky when we stop for gas, along with funny stuff like hats and other local novelty items.

I usually do the rally plus drive out the scenic way so its about 6500ish miles which (6500/200)*3.5=$1137 in gas, 4-6 shared hotel rooms on the way out, cash for any casinos we happen to stay near,40ish per drinking night(depends on where and how much though), $40 a day on random junk and you've got the guesstimate:-p

damn....Moss if you co-driver cops out Ill be your co-driver. I mean I got most of the costs covered minus the funds to make my car fast enough to hang. I have a lot to do. Clutch, Turbo, Suspension other stuff here and there. Moss I guess you might just need to start working overtime or pushing rock.

I think I have the cost under control.. Its my co driver im worried about. He has a problem with buyin things for his car..

Now yah see... IIIIIII have a car fast enough for the rally..lol.

I think im going to take a grand for extra spending money, plus the gas money, and a credit card for emergency.. Flat tire or any of that non sense.

I dont care to much about ticket's.. Im going to go online and find out which states are apart of the smooth operator program that maryland has.. Fines i dont care to much about, but with 11 points and a hearing in april, for a 180 day suspension, on a license i JUST got back... ill be letting the co driver do the fun in those state's.

As far as the trip back, im going to look into amtrak's rate's to ship the car and myself and co driver. looks like an average of a 22 hour train ride.. Hopefully catch some shut eye, and also spend a good amount of time uploading lots of pics and video's from the adventure.
