I have a Mossberg Plinkster. It was around $120 with a scope.
Most people get Ruger 10/22's. They have a huge aftermarket.

I have a Ruger 10/22 and a Marlin model 60, bother cheaper .22 rifles.
The Marline shoots way more accurate then the 10/22.
Though the Ruger has a 16" barrel verses the Marlin's 19".

does it have any place on it to mount a scope?
10/22 will be a next gun for me.
ash's was fun to shoot and ammo is cheap. I will prob put a nice scope on it and have fun at the range.

Jeff's rifle is a Mosin Nagant that shoots 7.62x54R. A round that is about a million times more powerful than a .22, haha!
There isn't really a cheap scope mounting method for it.

Buy a 10/22 as it is cheap, decently made, comes with a scope rail and...

Not sure on NY state law.
In PA you can obviously transport a rifle and I guess you could store it in your vehicle though it's not advised.

i know in ny its legal to have a pistol in your car even if you dont have a carry permit as long as its not concealed on your person.

NYS FYI:
Possession of any loaded rifle or shotgun in a vehicle is illegal.

I am almost also positive that you can NOT have a pistol in your car if you do not have a carry permit.
The firearm must be unloaded and in the trunk of a vehicle. If the vehicle has no trunk the firearm must be unloaded and in a locked container (not the glove compartment or console).
Which this pretty much is the Federal Gun Transportation law.

hmm maybe my uncle was talking about a different state then. lol i just remember him saying that you could carry a weapon in the car without a permit. that might have been florida actually cause we had been talking about florida's castle laws.
lol and ill store it unloaded. simple as that.
