I ditched work on Sunday for a Get Together at a fellow S60r's Volvo shop in Half Moon Bay.
Lets just say, it was so nice out, that half the bay area decided it was a great day to head to the beach. Half Moon Bay is approximately 20 miles from San Francisco Airport.
It took me 1 hr 45 mins to get through it all. The traffic was 6 miles off the freeway which took 1 hr 25 mins.
It was worth it, the drive was great, through the redwoods, eucalyptus trees, and all things forest.

Then this camry had to get in the way of one of our best drives...

I wish I still had my 740. It was soo beat, but thinking back there is soo much I could have done with it.

there is, that's why I still got mine after almost 10yrs of ownership + my dad bought it new.
Getrag tranny swap, turbo, coilovers, it really doesn't help when one of your larger customer is a tuning shop in Sweden that cranks out 500-800hp red block engines like cookies.
here's mine:

Ya kno, I'm not sure about everywhere else...
But there seems to be a line between the RWD bricks, and the newer Volvo's.
Its like, we're outcasts with these newer non-bricks.
Its kinda sad. hahhaha.

Volvo community in North America is kinda sad, you see those snobby P1800 guys at meets/shows, then you see the rusted out 240s that think they are cool, and then you get some company/shops that showcase cool stuff, then they never end up shipping anything out after you paid.
Or you get ppl with S60R (not you Larry, ha) that think their cars is God's gift, or ones driving around in thousands of 850 that's lowered, chip, exhaust, and running on Titans or Pegs and complaint about BMWs, but there are still plenty of nice guys that just lurk around.
BTW, I thought the old guys were outcast, we weren't hip and cool lol

When will Volvo make a C30 R awd! Or just give us the chassi and drivetrain of a Focus ST
I really wish Volvo would bring back the R's

Yeap, and that's where I'll see the most evidence of what you just described, at the VCOA Davis car show/swap meet this Sunday.
Ha, the R being gods gift. What a joke. That was the Audi RS6. :hang:
I actually wouldn't mind a 960/740, however. Then id have 2 daily drivers, and still not enough parking spaces. Current daily driver 1992 Mr2 N/a Leather w/ T-tops at 286k miles.

With their market share in North America, they're better off bringing in a Diesel XC90, or any other diesel product.
They are currently failing so hard.
I work at a Toyota dealer, we also own a Volvo dealer across the street. They sell less than 20 new cars a month, and were #1 in the region last month. :picard:

Buy a high mileage base model C30, then a wrecked S40/V50 AWD, take out a welder and cutting disc, few months later, then voila!
that's how our clients do it when they want AWD for their Focus.
