My first thread here ever so hopefully it's a good one..
Question .. any tips or recommendations on wrapping a car in vinyl? Nothing crazy, just a flat color for an e36 M3 ... any specific sites or companies I should look into? I'm on Long Island..
I did some searching online but could only find info on commercial car wraps but found nothing on personal car wraps so any help would be appreciated!
The wraps could go from $1,000-3,000.
Alicia looked into this and could give you a lot more info.

I'll PM her .. I was thinking about getting some sheets and doing the easy stuff myself (hood, trunk, doors, roof, maybe quarter panels) and leaving the tougher stuff like front and rear bumperz and fenders and the edges of the roof by the rain ducts to a pro ... any good sites to find some vinyl sheets? I saw someone else who picked up a sheet for his roof but I can't remember if he mentioned where he got the materials

Useually wrapping your car will cost about the same as getting it painted. If you do end up doing it make sure you get good quality vinyl and take your time if you do it yourself.
I'm in the process of wrapping my car with some really cheapppp vinyl. It doesn't look too shabby.... when standing back 5 feet haha.

My tip... leave it to a professional.
Mofo and I were able to my roof flat black with 48" vinyl without too big of a headach but obviously the roof is the easiest spot on the car.
It's honestly, a huge pain in the balls and usually ends up sucking.

Seriously I'd think about just getting it painted. Unless you are thinking about removing it sometime.

that 240 is gonna be sick hahaha
and yeah after doing more research over past few days i think im better off just fixing up the dent and rust bubble and getting a new front bumper than going through the pain of vinyl wrap .. at least i found a spot in queens which does wheels for 30 a pop :D

That 240 would look sick if it was done in a real quality vinyl, I can see bubbles even viewing it from the small vid!
Heating vinyl makes it stretchy and conform better, masking tape actualy will do the same thing to some degree.
There was a thread on NJT about a guy who wrapped his BMW in one weekend, he was bored of it being black so he made it white and left a black roof. Came out amazing.
Use the real deal, spend the money, and you'll have a nice outcome
