Probably going to pick up a video camera around xmas time - I don't need anything crazy high end. I used to mess around with my school canon xl 2 and 24p and such and that's cool but way over kill for my personal use.

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestion in terms of something around $500 - $700? I like Canon traditionally but video is a different realm for me.
