Well tomorrow (saterday) we're taking the m3 to the 1/4 mile track in west palm. Theres some event going on (i belive its called midnight madness) anyway, im taking video and pictures, so ill see if i can post it up tomorrow.

Today we started preparations, put the stock rears back on (which unfortunately weigh more, but they have more tread on them) and started stripping the monster. Took out the whole back seats, headrests (cept for the drivers) carpets, rear seat bolsters, any plastic trimming, truck air compressor, truck carpeting, rear speakers (might take out the fronts speakers tomorrow, but its a long drive to do w/o a radio), and maybe tomorrow if we can, we'll take out the passenger seat. In total we removed 78.2lbs, 3.8 of which are from the wheels (since we still have the 19's up front). Hopefully all goes well, we're praying to break into the twelves (we'll see  ). Anymore ideas for weight reduction?

anyone else going to this btw?

Sweet, good luck with that. What do you have done to your car?

You could take off all the mirrors after the ride down.. might make the car look funny if you don't have covers for the holes... Um.. I think that's about it... for this short period of time... If you had a lighter hood, i would say install that... I think your car is about as light as you can get her and still run properly... minus taking the bumper and stuff off.. but then what would be the point...

Door speakers if you have them.. Um.. yeha, that's pretty much it on a stocker...

Drive around until you have about a 1/4 tank of gas before you make your runs. Just make sure there is a station close enough to get to after.

whiper fluids too.. if you can cypher it out that would be cool.. Even though it's only about a gallon of fluid.. roughly
1 Gallon = 10 lbs

Visors, Glove box, any other compartments you may have ... Glove box is probably about 2 or 3 lbs.. If you can get it out... radio??? that'sa about 2 - 3 lbs too...

wiper fluid, good one, that will come out tomorrow then (its full too and the resiviour is HUGE)

hood is aluminum so theres really no point in changing it.

no spare tire (came w/ runflats)

i wish i could take out the passenger seat, thats like 75lbs (those power seats are bitches)

i'll think about the glove box and stuff, i heard the center console is pretty easy to take off. Im getting tons pictures, its weird to look at a half stripped m3 w/ stock 18's in the back and 19inchers up front

Don't waste your time at the 1/4 mile...go to a road course instead.

best run was a 13.8 at 105 :( I was hoping for better, i ran that number w/ DSC on too, so my launch was pure crap (2.2 60ft). Anyway, not to start giving excuses, but its difficult to launch on the track when ur used to the street.

btw, i would be taking it to road courses, but i have no one to go w/

Trap speed isn't too bad. I ran a 13.3 @ 103ish with a 1.96 60' time in my stock M3 on the 19"s

Stock I ran a 13.239@101 in the STi. I had all season tires on it (not stock race tires) and pulled constant 1.7x 60fts.

see, i beat sti's

i talked w/ a bunch of other people who went on the same day, apparently track conditions were less than ideal. Almost all were complaining about getting good traction, even dudes w/ slicks.

I was expecting a low 13, maybe next time i'll do better

heh, civic is for sale, hes moving on up. That car is such a peice of shit, no a/c, no p/s, and you reak of gas after riding in it because it runs so damn rich.

I just removed the AC from my car too, sucks that we're heading to Miami in June... oh well, t-tops off and 150+ should cool me down.

Its gotta be better than the DSM last year. Driving through the desert with the heat on "high".

I lived in Florida for a year and went to school there, my buddy had a turbo mr2 with t-tops, it definitely helps.

I completly agree. I learned that last year. Auto-xing is my thing
