In reference to the subaru/evo video i posted:

Alicia (12:23:20 PM): so stupid the no rice thing. YOU GUYS ARE SOO RICERS
Alicia (12:23:22 PM): hahaha
Alicia (12:23:23 PM): hahaha
Chris (12:23:27 PM): mmhmm
Chris (12:23:31 PM): no rice (except sti wings)
Alicia (12:23:42 PM): definitely ricers.
Chris (12:23:46 PM): hmm
Chris (12:23:49 PM): how so, exactly?
Alicia (12:23:54 PM): anything tuner..I'm sorry qualifies as a ricer in my book
Chris (12:23:54 PM): any one of those cars can beat your car ;-)
Alicia (12:24:09 PM): um..my car is naturally aspirated
Alicia (12:24:12 PM): for now
Chris: uh, rice, by definition, is something that adds on to the car, or makes the car look faster, but does not add any performance
Alicia: you should be able to beat me
Chris (12:24:34 PM): right, you have 1 or 1.5 more litres and two more cylinders
Alicia (12:24:40 PM): no I beg to differ rice = foreign jap modified
Chris (12:24:47 PM): that is completely incorrect
Alicia (12:24:54 PM): whatever
Alicia (12:24:59 PM): I'm right
Alicia (12:25:07 PM): you know the rules

Besides, what's the most common aftermarket part ever put on crown vics? Oh yeah, 22" chrome wheels that weigh a ton.

In any event, I'm a self proclaimed ricer. My shit's clean, mostly everything is engine or suspension.

He turned out to be a rather nice guy. He claimed he didn't have his ticket book on him. Scared the shit out of me when those lights came on though.

Cops are cool.. except when they are pulling me over... Being nice and unaware of what's wrong sometimes pays off.. For those times that don't, Knowing other law enforcement officers plays a good part too.. If you know none.. Oh well.. Just remember, Never admit to anything.. It may come to harm you later... Why is it when a police officer pulls someone over, traffic slows down to way under the speed limit to look???

pandaspeed
01-25-2005, 10:05 AM
its not to look, its because deep down were all afraid, that the cop will just say fuck it, and pull us over. When i got busted the cop had already pulled somebody over, but decided he wanted the beater accord instead, so the guy pulled out again hit his lights, and bam, next thing i know i have a ticket.

Thats why...

bcflick
01-25-2005, 10:10 AM
Wow... I guess I've alwayz been lucky. "Knock on wood" I dont like slowing down.. I'd rather keep my original speed... But if smokey is on the side of the road for a speed trap... Yeah.. I'll slow down.. You kind of learn to read traffic for the hot spots.. If all of a sudden you start seeing red lights about a mile away.. about 75% of the time it's nothing, but you kinda get that feeling in your gut that you need to slow down and get in the slow lane.. Maybe I'm just a risk taker.. Um.. yeah.. that's what we will call it.. Risk taker...

pandaspeed
01-25-2005, 10:14 AM
Mine was comming over a blind hill. I at least caught a glimpse of the lights before he got me, was able to slow it down to only 14 over. got off with a hundred bucks and a slap on the wrist. The whole thing could have been avoided if i just stoped being a cheap ass, and shelled out the money for a detector, need to do that A.S.A.P.

bcflick
01-25-2005, 10:21 AM
Man.. I got caught on a BS charge in PG county in Maryland... The start trooper pulled me over because i passed him as he was getting off of the highway. he didn't pull me over for speeding but for aggressive driving.. said I cut off the road to pass traffic in a left lane, weaving through traffic and drving at excessive speeds... I was in a '96 Ford escort, 2 door, manual.. She was having problems at the time, and i couldn't get the car to go over 80... (i was bigger then) Slapped me with a $375 ticket and 3 points...
Took it to court and won... Was very nice to the cop but he had and additude about something.. didn't say that in the trial.. but I took picuters of the road which had no shoulders where he pulled me over, and some other important facts.. It was a Saturday morning, like 6 in the morning, there was very little traffic, and i stayed in the fast lane.. The only thing was, i had KY plates on the car... i'm no transporter...

pandaspeed
01-25-2005, 10:26 AM
haha i just talked to the da and got mine to like less than nine over, it was almost pitch black, their was no excuse. I did get off once after draging a cop, he was in an unmarked and passed me when i was going ten over. I was like fuck this dropped it down and flored it, next thing i know there's lights in my rearveiw, the guy said he pulled me over for weaving. I guess he thought i was drunk, explained to guy about shit going on at school and the guy let me go. All my days of doing plays in high school came in handy, made my body start shaking, fought back fake crying it was perfect, and the best part no ticket :)

bcflick
01-25-2005, 10:31 AM

i got a question....how come something done purely for looks is considered rice?

whats so wrong with wanting your car to look nice. The lip kit i have in mind has no functionality whatsoever (it MIGHT reduce drag by the slimist of margins) and the cf hood i want doesnt really make much of a difference on a 3000lb car, but i love the way unpainted cf looks. Im also planning wider tires for the rear in a fwd car.

I think that rice is a modification done in bad taste, which would make rice a subjective category, which it is already, because if u ask two different people what their opinion of rice is they will most likely have different deffinitions.

btw alicia do u have any pics of your car? engine shots would be cool too if u can.

Are the guys in Frederick really good?? I have some good guys in Baltimore but i don't want them working on my engine. Everything else is cool... but not my engine... if i need too, i can drive it up or tow the lancer myself.

Suggestions from anyone: When i do go to upgrade my engine, do you think it would be better to buy a whole new engine, like a modified EVO III engine or just add turbo to my current engine... The modified EVO engine will fit perfectly but leave very little room for any other mods; The turbo will take some work to get it in there, but if placed correctly i will have plenty of space for whatever... (projected specs..) EVO iii = 266 power / 309 torque / top speed 180 regular engine with turbo kit = 240 - 280 power / 270 - 350 torque / top speed 210... i think i just answered my own question... Turbo right???

theres a lancer oz at my friends shop haard motorsports (im pretty sure they have a site) that they just turboed the stock motor, that bastard is fast. i guess they have some potential.
