I've been looking at Mustangs recently. I'm usually not a fan of them (other then the 60's ones, of course) but I'm starting to like the new ones. The body style (2005+) is much better, and you can get them for pretty cheap now. I think it looks like a total beast!
What are your thoughts on them?

Do you think girls in Mustangs look like tools, LOL?
I'm down with the new facelifted mustang. Gitten's drift car is sick, and sounds INSANE!
But Katie would be good to go with a GT at most.

I've rented two of the V6 ones. The last one I rented was a 2009 with 46 miles on it.
Both were terrible :( Fantastically cheap plastic interior that rattled even when new, zero power, crappy transmission with long shift delays and poor timing, couch-like seats, aweful handling thanks to a solid rear axle pulled out of a pickup truck from the 50s, etc..
They also have poor aerodynamics.
The GT500 has a ton of power, which sounds exciting, except for the fact that it weights TWO tons... The only way I would drive a 2 ton vehicle is if it was armored
THAT SAID... The Mustang GT recently beat out the Challenger and the Camaro SS on Car and Driver's; they sound phenomenal and get great reviews... I'd like to drive one one of these days to see how I like it.
If it was me though, on that price range, I would probably be looking at the Camaro SS first and foremost, and then possibly also the new Nissan 370Z.

Yeah, I still need to go drive one. Oddly enough, I've also been looking at the 370z, but I'd probably end up with a 350z. I've found some pretty interesting deals on them right now.

Guide Review - First Drive: 2010 Ford Mustang GT with Track Pack
Whether or not you’re a fan of the 2010 Mustang’s swoopy new sheetmetal, it’s hard not to fall in love with the facelifted pony car when you’re roaring through a twist-intensive Malibu canyon. The finer points of the driving experience reflect the revisions made the Track Pack-equipped ‘Stang: a 3.73 rear end with limited slip differential, carbon fiber clutch plates, more aggressive brake pads, stabilizer and rear lower control arms plucked from the GT500, 19” wheels with performance rubber, and AdvanceTrack tuning.
But skip the lengthy equipment list and you’ll notice one important thing when you’re roaring down the canyons: this Mustang sticks! From turn-in to exit, the car feels glued to the road, stubbornly holding its line with tenacious adhesion. The live rear axle’s pesky snapping tendencies are absent—at least at the speeds we were driving, though a closed course might reveal more—and the drive is so confidence-inspiring you might just think you’re Parnelli Jones without even triggering stability control.
Brakes are powerful (though they feel a bit softer than we expected), and the 4.6 liter V8’s sweet rumble is tuned just right, thanks to the sound tube that pipes the engine’s induction system into the cabin. And that’s a good thing, since Ford engineers quieted down the interior and reduced the Mustang’s drag coefficient, while boosting horsepower to 315 and upping redline by 250 rpm.
Other improvements include an upgraded instrument panel and more soft touch interior materials, but die-hard Mustang enthusiasts who opt for the Track Pack will appreciate the refinements made to this Mustang’s handling. And while the Track Pack seems a bargain at $1,495, just remember you ought to make allowances for your tire budget: once you start pulling Gs on this Mustang, you won’t want to stop.

my buddy andy has a 2009 shelby GT500 he lives in the levittown area, some of the locals might know it its the blue w/ white stripes. That car makes 700RWHP and is a absolutely rocket. It just beat a 800HP turbo civic that runs around with a chute on the street.
Bring it to the street the boys will play.
