i'm looking for a daily driver that will be able to handle the occasional rally and most importantly, track days (maybe autox too) so i can improve my driving. i would like to get more power out of it too, but i'd mostly like handling. and no, i don't want to spend 10k on one mod.
my inspiration was the yellow one that this kid on another forum just got, so i'm gonna take a seat and wait for the right one. anything i should look for/lookout for?
2nd choice is the purple 95 with 75k miles
MMM WAY

Mine is a '95 and have only minor electrical problems.
You should look for an adult owned, low mileage car. The only technical issue is the water pump and, arguably, the thermostat housing. The original water pump had a plastic impeller that was prone to breaking. The thermostat housing is plastic and has been known to crack.
Go check out bimmerforums.com because there is tons of info there.
Good luck on your quest - it's a great car for the money.
guy on a new york forum selling this one:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=167941165&dealer_id=&car_year=1995&make=BMW&distance=25&max_price=17000&model=M3&advcd_on=n&end_year=1995&min_price=0&certified=n&address=14221&search_type=used&advanced=n&start_year=1995&color=&cardist=15
i think i'll wait for another one to come around with less than 60k on it or so, since i see that is possible. first choice is definately blue :)

spamming? I have posted 4 or 5 times. What are you talking about?
I may have posted ONE link. I dont think that is "spamming", do you?
(by the way,on other web pages i tell people to check out this site everyday...so dont act like i am a hater)
I think your getting MY user name confused with some OTHER people.
This (http://www.akarally.com/board/showthread.php?t=544&page=2 ) was my last post. I thought i had a link in there, guess not?
uh,
later?

I understand that you didn't spam personally, thank you. What my message meant was that other people (namely bud) SERIOUSLY spammed this board with links to the project that your name is on. Unfortunately, it is guilt by association. I just don't have the patience to police the boards and watch for posts like that. As per our last phone conversation, you promised to not make any negative posts. A few days later, a huge diatribe appeared from you. That is grounds enough for me, as I think I've been more than patient. Contact me privately if you are so inclined.

Dont PM cause my user names keep getting banned or deleted. WTF? i remember seeing yours for sale, so i searched the forum for a long time the other day and found it. 20k is too much tho, especially for the mileage. mods are nice, but mods don't increase value much in my book, even tho i'm sure they are $$$ for m3's.
and yes, if you have an m3 for sale, post details/pics :)
i mostly made this thread to learn (in other words, keep this thread civil, take official issues to PM :) love ya anyway chris). like 95-99 = e36? see i never knew what those meant, well never pieced it together, my roommate had an e30 i learned to drive 5-speed in.
Chris, one word for you....chill!
if you have it out for me, then call me or e-mail me. other then that, just drop it. If you have problems with people "I KNOW" then take it up with them.
any whoo,
If you want to make an offer on the M3 i am open to them. Just keep in mind you can't always go by blue book on these cars. When you find a mint one, you might pay a little extra for it.
For the record, this is a near mint car. It would be worth at least taking a look. Cause with the cams, etc, etc it pulls on some E46 M cars, it is REALLY quick for a E36.
Later
i'll let you know if i'm still looking. i'm going to get a car for my mother/sister this week. if they decide to get a forester, i'll probably just throw some money into that to get the STi engine and just live with that for a while.
for the right price i would be interested in your m3 tho. i'll let u know how this pans out.

There is TONS more just like it too!
///M cars are simply amazing. It will hold its value well, it is a very safe car if you were ever in a crash, it has timeless good looks, has all the features/neat technologies in it (on board computers and such) and there is a growing aftermarket for it. There are precious few cars quite like it....you can take it to work in the moring, the track in the afternoon, and a date at night.
As an added bonus... in under a year from boostlogic $8,000 will get you a turbo kit that *should put you in the 10's@130+ ;) Stock bottom end, bolt on kit!
i'll probably just throw some money into that to get the STi engine and just live with that for a while.
the M3 gets them on the highway too! Damn STi has too much TQ down-low, cause it beats the M from 0-70, but 70+ is all the M3....
Barrett when does this 8K turbo kit come out?
damn turbo kit for 8k?
i may throw all of my money into an apt. in nyc instead.
cuz whether im here in long island or move into the city, i have no use for a car as much as i want one. it would get almost no use except for track/autocross so why bother making payments on it. maybe i can get a job thats actually in my field somewhere else and i'll pick up the search again.
