Depends on the new springs spring rate.

The best ride quality for your car can be achieved through the use of Kyorin co. single wind springs. They are uber JDM.

If you really want to just lower the car, use worm clamps on your springs. It's what I use on the Porsche, really helps when the shock gets to the bump stop with both ride quality and handling. Not to mention the car sits a full inch lower now!

On my track evo9rs I just wrapped a chain around the spring -- then secured it with a padlock. Use one with a key that way there is no combination to get in your way... It's totally cool.
