Ok so I just sent in all my information for my loan for the LAST Limited STi in the southeast 5 minutes ago. Tomorrow morning i will know if I am approved, more than likely i will be, and I will go get the car.
I cannot wait it is number 693 or 800, its white and BEAUTIFUL. Here are a few pics of what it looks like, its not the exact car, but you get the point. I will post pics, HOPEFULLY once i get the car later this week.

there is an older guy with one around me, the color on it is just awesome.
And you still need to sell your two other cars to attend the rally?
Sounds like you're doing just fine.

lol...well i am also selling my bike and my bagged truck now. I HAVE to sell either my truck or my bike by the end of the month to stay within my monthly payment range. right now I am paying WAY too much in monthly payments, a little over $900 a month for the bike and the STi and all the credit cards, which is stupid, especially for a college student.

$900 a month for a bike and auto loan + credit card payments?? How do I get all of my debt consolidated into such a low amount?!

I guarantee it's cheaper than living in MD or anyway northeast.
We are always amazed at how cheap the houses are when we watch 'Flip that House'
(there's a team that buys and flips houses in Dallas)

"Flip that House" I'm sad to say that's my favorite show. Ha!
Well if it's cheaper to live down here, I really hope I don't ever move away from Texas. My monthly rent is equal to the mortgage payment on a 400K house!!!

life is cheaper in the south, but it also all depends on where you are. Like atlanta, there are places here where you can get a 3 bed 3.5 bath for 190K and then there are other places where the same house will cost you 400K+. its pretty much like any other place,

Ok so I get a call for Subaru today, I am approved they said the car is mine. HELL YA> I told them that I was going to come in later to talk figures and they said alright. Around 2 i got off work and went in to talk to the financial specialist. I get there and wait around 10 minuets for the specialist and when i get in there he says alright $725 a month....lol
I thought he was joking, that was like 13% interest. I asked him what was going on and he said that Wachovia, and Bank of America both declined my application and that Subaru Financing was the only place that would take me. I was like huummmmm, ok. I look at the interest rate and it is 11.9%. I tell the guy that this is ridicules and said that its kind of odd that Ford approved me by myself for 3% interest on a more expensive car and that Subaru cannot even finance me for under 7%.
The financial then started to shake his head and then surprised me with this....There is no way with your credit score that Ford financed you with that interest rate....I was like whaaa? I kind of sat there for a minute then said whatever, thats ford and we arent dealing with them, lest get back to topic.
We then started to talk about monthly payment and I was like $725 is outrageous and I WILL NOT pay that. I then told him that if he was able to lower it to under $700 that I would sign the papers TODAY. He then surprised me again with...If $25 a month will make or break you then you dont need to be looking at a STi.
He get me off guard this time. I took it almost as if the STi was too good for me...I told him that I could in fact afford the $725/month but I set a limit and $700 a month was it. He then said that this was the best he could do. I got up ad walked out.
Once i got home i call the Subaru of Gwinnett manager and told him about my experience and he said that he was sorry and that he was going to try to fix everything and would call me back shortly....its been over 3 hours now and still no call.
Also I decided to call Wachovia to see if I really got rejected. I gave the rep all my information and I was in fact approved for a loan for the car....so My question is, why did Subaru say I was declined and when i called wachovia directly they approved me?
I had the worst experience ever with Subaru of Gwinnett and recommend that if you want bad customer service when buying a new car to stay away.
I WILL NOT BUY FOR SUBARU OF GWINNETT EVER OR RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. THE ONLY REASON I WILL EVER SET FOOT NEAR THE STORE WILL TO SEE SCOTT.

I think Ford may be more leniant as to who they approve for loans. I applied for a loan through my credit union and was given a 7.9% intrest rate (which is ridiculous) and the next day Ford financed me @ 3.9 for 48 months.
Not every car will qualify you for the same rate. Just because you can get say a 1.9apr on a honda accord doesn't mean you'll get that same rate for an sti limited.

I'm not accusing you of bad credit but if you need some help improving it let me know.. I work for JPMorgan and credit is my specialty... I would be more than willing to help you increase your credit quickly.. Especially since you like rally cars.. I mean its no EVO but hey thats ok.. LOL

If Wachovia approved you, then simply get the specifics from them. If the terms are acceptable, finalize the deal, let the dealer know you'll take it, and show up with the check.

I don't think you could buy a double wide for 190K around here.
A 3 bd, 3.5 bath house at 400K is a steal! The townhouses next door to us (I think 4 bds, if not 3 bds) listed initially at 1.2 mil a piece.
back on topic though... I would never ever give up a 3% interest rate . I absolutely refuse to buy new :) . Waste o' money if you ask me.

i work for car dealers im a scumbag salesman but i will tell you why what happened happened i have just about 2 years under my belt and it goes like this a the finance guy will make money on rate soo the bank will approve you for 5% thats called a buy rate but if the finance guy then sells that loan to you at that rate then he makes no money so then he juices up the rate a little bit to feed his family so normally if you get a rate of 7% or 8% then your buy rate was probably 5% or 5.9%...also rate is determind by your credit score and credit history even tho score is dictated by history the reason i can only assume that they said wachivoa didnt approve you is because he didnt get a good buy rate where he could make money however when your at a rate that high no offense but you might have a lower credit score then you think and to the ford thing each car manufactures motor credit aproval changes from day to day well really sometimes ford is running a special where lower credit scores can get approved for there program or national add program like for had the 0% for 72mo. they had a very very low credt score qualifier so it all depends on what each car make is offering...if you want i can probably get you approved through a bank at buy rate and i would fax you the approval letter and then you would just walk in to the dealer with that approval and tell them to use this bank..they would probably shit there pants haha!!!

the thing I dont get is that I have a 668...and my mother who was co-signing has a 740+. They honestly just thought I was a young kid, 21, who didnt know any better. O well, I am just going to co with Wachovia or Capital One and walk in with a blank check next time. You live and learn, and unfortunately I learned by not getting the car I wanted.
If Wachovia approved you, then simply get the specifics from them. If the terms are acceptable, finalize the deal, let the dealer know you'll take it, and show up with the check.

The car is sold now, when I left there was a guy there that wanted to get the car and was soooo pissed that I was filling out all the papers, i told him good luck with the car and then said something like dont let them laugh you out of the office because i will never be back here...
So more than likely that guy, and older gentleman, took the car home last night or this morning.

17% is crazy. But you got a sweet car though. Try to pay if off quicker if you can Brent. I just got a used car loan for about 6.5% which i thought was ok. Not the best but def not the worst.

Haha, I'm already married. Part of the dark side already.
But seriously 17% is a big chunk of change on a car loan.
Definitely a sweet ride though.
Will the Lotus be attending this summer or the Z?

I am working on a refi right now, but I think the best I could do at this point is 11 - 12%. I agree I need to get it paid ASAP (I need to stop putting so much into the Z first thou).
As for the summer Rally, still working out details. Plans would be for the Z, but that is being rebuilt as we speak and I might be out of country sooo...? Not sure what the summer will bring …

The lowest I have ever seen for a used car was 4.75, and that's with Tower Federal, the federal employees credit union. So, 6.5% is not bad at all.
