Since we are all a very diverse & interesting bunch of people on here, I am just curious as to what you all do as a day job? And if you are a student what is your future plan of action?

I am a self-employed excavating contractor. We move mountains (literally) and lay pipe, everyday, all day long... and all night if need be.

Masterbate. 60-70 times a day so my hands are like clubs. In fact, it's really difficult to type.
When I'm not roughing up the suspect, I manage a group of process engineers for the company that makes the processor in your computer...unless it's a Mac. In which case, you suck.

Ummm..I'm either sleeping, spending money, complaining about being gimp, playing on the computer, sipping on some vodka, doing some filming, looking for ladies on the beach, or mailing off and/or editing DVDs or other projects...that abouts it for my everyday life!

Erin, I have lots of love for INTC, even though I typically use AMD processors in my x86-based machines. Regardless, I have a powerbook as my main machine. OSX > Windows, by far. If the time comes when they make OSX work on an x86 platform, I might go back to it. Until then, Mac 4 lyfe!
I am a full-time student, run a computer consulting business full-time, and coordinate the '05 AKA Rally. I travel, eat great food, and drink with whatever time is left!
Edit: I also run up my post-count with legitimate posts, unlike a number of other slags here.

OSX is very friendly.
The whole WinTel/Mac thing is somewhat frustrating from a chip design point of view. The technology of the physics in the chips we produce in high volume is amazing. Nobody can touch us with respect to gate sizes, stressed Si, die yield and ultimately shear volume. With all that in the chip, the end user has to struggle with Windows.

I sit around all day putting money in my money counters like Tony Montana in Scarface. Sometimes I feel so guilty when I go into the bank with a briefcase full of money. Too bad all of the stacks are just $1 dollar bills. I use to lie to the teller and try to tell her I am a stripper but she finally realized that I didn't have the looks or talent to do it. Rather most of you might understand www.ComeParkWithUs.com better.
Remember to be nice to your valet attendants during the holiday season.

See for that reason I can not hire you...the sad thing is we get this same comment in our office daily. I am sure you can get it done alicia....the women are typically smarter when it comes to parking cars.
Thanks Awais, I worked hard on it for months. I still have a few more changes to make on it.

All this talk about computers and stuff is interesting, as I am not too familiar with it. It seems like most here are either students or big into computers and programing. Does anyone have a stressfull, nerve-racking job?

Having 90+ employees who are mostly in college is not stressful? Having to answer to a$$hole restaurant owners is not nerve-racking? Sometime I wish I had a 9-5 so I can get some good sleep at night. Although I have 4 managers, I am always worried about something....nature of the business. We work almost 20 out of 24 hours a day daily!

Hmmm, interesting. I have anywhere from 10 to 50 union employees per job, who all act like a bunch of women. To make things better, I am always running the risk of men getting killed or hurt, not yet, fortunately and I am paying my operators $38.15/hr and laborers $26.79/hr. I also have my house, my cars, my shop and all my equipment on the line. I could lose everything at once, with one bad choice. That is stress.

Don't get me wrong, I think that 90 employees/ 20hrs a day is a killer also. Nothing that I would want to do.
I was just curious if others have jobs similar to my stress levels, not that I can't handle it. Maybe that is why everyone thinks I'm crazy. Literally.

Misery - I feel your pain with the stress.
My engineers and techs work with some pretty nasty chemicals (liquid and gas), high voltage and RF sources. Add to that the financial concerns associated with manufacturing 'issues' and the bottom line impacts with a company that nets billions of dollars annually. And, I have two daughters - 'nuff said.
I know stress.

yeah, I was shocked when ol' erin told me he was 'ol erin.
I use a mac too, used to work for apple when I was in school. Now I do web stuff. We need to redo our website, but www.hidefweb.com is the firm. I'm debating getting a normal job, so we'll see at the end of January if I can get a bunch of clients out here in Texas.
Everyone gives me lip cause I get up when I want, and generally do what I want, and can still pay my bills and have good toys.
