I'm thinking of changing my conventional motor oil to Synthetic... From what I hear you can get more miles to the gallon on your gas, better engine performance and a few other things...
What are the benefits of synthetic motor oil over Conventional motor oil
NEVER USE QUACKER STATE!!!

I have been using full synthetic since 9,000 miles. It is better for your motor and you can safely go 5,000 miles between changes. It is more expensive, and not for everyone. For your car you should be fine with a mix or conventional.

I use the blended synthetic that Castrol makes. it doesn't disappear like full synthetic sometimes does.

Cool.. I'll probably be converting to the blended Castrol that 1fstrex suggested... I hear good reviews about Castrol's preformance. The commercials are a little misleading as usually but I think it should be pretty good for the lancer... I'll be converting this weekend.. As a Just in Case Senario for the LIMO...
Any suggestions for the conversion... preventative work??? YOu know take out the battery and fuel pump for easy access... (kidding)

yeah take a four inch auger to the bottom of your oil pan, makes for easy draining

The only reason it "dissapears" is this: Synthetic oil does everything conventional does, just a little bit more. If your car makes a lot of HP, you will make a little bit more with synthetic. If your car leaks oil, you will leak a little bit more with synthetic.

It even takes more money out of your pocket ;)
I broke my STi in with conventional, then went to Mobil 1. I've used Mobil 1 for all of my cars, and they have all run like new to ~80k, before I got rid of em. I always change the filter and oil at 3k, because it makes me feel better, and I drive the car hard, always. The oil is always as black as Wesley Snipes when it comes out at 3k.

I forgot all about Valvoline... I'll be doing a little more research.. car performance so on, so forth and then making the change... I already drive the car too much.. oil is usually still clear when I change it. probably cause I'm pushing 3k in about a month... Car isn't even 6 months old and I have 15k on her... looking for a beater now... but until then, I'm blasting my truck along the highways... Only to calm my speed monkey, will i take out the Lancer... Who am I kidding.. I'll be out there every day, ripping up the road... Praise to the car gods.. Bless the Speed Monkeys

Hey everyone, i'm back on.. I wanted to give everyone an update in case you wanted to know. The Lancer has been converted to Full Syn - Mobil 1. Performance has done nothing but improved. I get more MPH per gear, less gas is being burned, She's got a mean little exhaust noise now (non factory muffler). But I really need to get some bigger rims... she's not holding to the road too well at the higher speeds.. But between Maryland, and DC the roads suck... VA is pretty good, But potholes all over the place in Maryland and DC... already had to replace a tire because of some big A$$ pot hole on US50 in DC... Fucking blow out at 70 MPH isn't fun... Bad thing is, i reported the hole like a week ago and it's still not covered. Slackers...
anywayz... Syn Oil has done wonders for the Lancer... Thanks for all the advise guys...Life savers...

Don't get new wheels. Get a header, test pipe, cat back, intake, em, and n2o (since your n/a). Then do breaks and follow those up with 16" Rota's.
