New member here so lemme just cut to the chase. I just totaled my nissan sentra i owned (twisted the chassis) so im out on the search for any Type of Sedan or Coupe that HAuls Ass. Evo or STI not wanted. I was looking down the cheaper route at the 96 2+2Nissan 300zx or 240zx or maybe a 97 supra but i need a few opinions as to which car to buy.

Supra would be awesome, but by no means anywhere near cheap. For a 97, without any mods, be prepared to pay at least $25k, likely more.

Go with a 240. I have one as a second car. Mine has a SR swap, but you can get a turbo kit for the KA. They both can easily be built to haul and are farily cheap.

Ive seen a few 95-97 supras going for under 20k but ppl who have supras are dyno queens. I didnt want an EVO or STI b/c i heard about that retarted mitsu waranty thing and STI's give problems after 60k mi or so. Besides everyone has EVOs or STI's and Supra's. I was thinking about buying a 240 and put a few silvia parts like headlights, HKS bodykit and a few other things on it, but before i looked into buying the 240 i wanted an Audi A4 or 02' S4. I was planning to make it a AWD sleeper but then again Audi's are way to expensive and so are their parts The TT's nice BTW.

I think im gona stay with the 300zx twin turbo it, put a veilside bodykit on it, and get aprox 600-750 HP and buy the 240 as a second car, hell ill make it a sleeper.

Why do a body kit first? You should do power and funtional parts first. function over style... a phrase to live by. BTW: I havn't heard any issues with STi's over 60,000 miles. Hell, I havn't heard of many STi's past that point.

I agree with you on power/function over style but what i meant was what i was gona eventually do to the 300zx, it wasnt in any specific order. Ive been checking out Stillen.com, Greddy.com and Veilside for aprox. costs for all the mods. My only problem is i dont know how much it'll cost to have a shop do it for me b/c i fuck up almost every DIY project.

Talk to gotboost for some idea's for the 300. He has one that is sick.

you are obviously a new 300zx owner, so I would suggest leaving 300zxclub.com (rice forum) and joining www.twinturbo.net because they are much smarter and will be able to answer/advise you on ANYTHING

oh and by the way, they NEVER made the 300zx 2+2 in twin turbo in the US. If you want the 2+2 you are either getting a NA or a tt-swap, or it has RHD. I must insist you do not install anything veilside tho. My body set-up is very simple, J spec front bumper, sanded smooth stock sides and rear. Simple yet elegant. As far as getting 600-750 hp, I'm assuming you mean hp at the wheels, or rwhp, so that would mean you need to built at least a 800hp motor. My 300zx has over 700rwhp, and if you are on a tight budget, well, good luck...

The Z isnt a cheap car, and needs to be maintained before it can be modded. If you are planning on getting a old cheap one and putting on a veilside kit etc. just do all of us current Z owners a favor and dont. If you are serious about getting a decent one and plan to make it fast, shoot me an email, I can definitely help you out there.

As for the VS bodykit, my friend did say that the kit makes the car look like a fish, BUT i checked out czp.us and i like that fairladyZ front facia they had. Ive heard of many Twinturbo'd Z's destroying Supras at the track but i highly belived it. i went ahead and bought the 240sx as well to see if i can work some magic to make it a show car. Ive always wanted to go to sema and have a car out on show.

UPDATE: i decided to change my mind and go with the 240sx. The 350zx is still here since it was my fathers but i went and bought the 240. GotBoost could give me any tips or help witht the 240? Ive already found a shop that will swap out this crappy 2.5 to the SR20DET. All i got to do is put some silvia S15 headlamps with a Drift style front facia.

Well i was looking for anything in the 450-500. I have a nice set of S15 xenon head lamps already and im trying to find a drift style front facia. my budget is roughly about 13k which i hope covers everything ill need for this car.

Im guessing most of the budget will go into exterior looks (Carbon Hood, Body kit and spoiler) and SR20DET swap and bolt ons to get 450 rwhp

I still gota order some 5zigen Hyper 57R Black Chrome(19') or some Axis Sevenmod (19') rims but i need a tire to go with it (any tips on that? Toyo, BFG, anything?) Im gona go check out carboncreations to see how reasonable the prices are.

You must have misunderstood my last post. What i meant was im going to eventually get all those asthetics for the car, but for right now 13k is going straight to the SR20DET swap and anything else that has to do with the engine so i can pump out 450 rwhp. It makes no sense to have a car that looks fast but cant haul a$$ than to have a extremely powerful and fast car with no outerbody modifications.

another 13k is going into exterior asthetics if ill even need that much.

also, 90% of people put it on because it looks cool and cause everyone is doing it. For instance, a carbon fiber hood for a 300zx actually weighs 2 lbs more than the stock hood, yet people still buy it because its carbon fiber. Also, if you are hell bent on carbon fiber this carbon fiber that, at least paint it so its the same color as the car.

Same with the subie, it is usually no or little weight loss. In some instances it weighs more than the stocker.

Its not auto its the 6MT i have. Its soo dam nice, but i can drive it untill christmas morning comes. The closest ive come to driving the thing was revving it in the driveway. Its a 04 breand new (with the brembos) The 05 models will not have brembos and they do have a 13-15 hp gain. BUT thats only on the Sedan model. The coupe still keeps it Brembos. I bought a Greddy Twinturbo kit for the car for christmas with intercooler and wastegate. I should have about 400rwhp. Should i put a body kit on it or no, because it looks just fine without one.
