Is there anyone out there who is going to run with some real American muscle? I hear all this talk about Honda's and Mitsubishi's but none about Camaro's, Corvette's or Mustangs. I am going to run with a 2002 Mustang Saleen 281 S/C and hopefully my buddy will run in his 2003 Z06.

real american muscle shit the cars you listed i wouldnt even consider that american "muscle"
to me american muscle would be the classic Ford Mustang BOSS........ The Super Bird, Classic novas and chevelles and vettes and camaros... the old stangs and the shelbys. Dodge Chargers and Challengers and so forth. Thats real american muscle =D . and boy wouldnt i love to take one of those on the rally

Yeah I hear you but who wants to take a 30-35 year old car from coast to coast. I have some friends who own Camaros (SS), Corvette's (Z06) and Mustangs (Cobra's and Saleens) and those vehicles are very much worthy of the title American Muscle. By the way, you forgot Mopar my friend.

If I go, and I can get the shipping figured out ($$$), it will be in a '65 Cobra replica.

I would bring the GN, V6 American Muscle bitches. Too many miles for it and I am not shure how it would do with the needle burried most of the trip (it only goes to 85mph).

I never ran my car personally, i let my mechanic do it, cuz he's been draggin for years. On BFG supercomps, i think it was high 11's -12.

Thanks, Car racing fanatic. I fortunately built my car for road racing, too bad I still get terrible mileage with that big rat under the hood, 6-speed and all.

Hopefully I will be bringing my Ford Lightning...Its not a sports car, but it'll do.

Would you consider a SRT-4 a muscle car it runs 14's. And unlike most of the muscle cars during the 1970's it does more than go straight.

SRT-4 isnt a muscle car. One major thing that is required for muscle is RWD. Also, the majority of muscle cars were two door (could get almost any car in coupe/sedan in 60's).

yeah if i am not mistaken i believe the only 4 door muscle cars were the early 60s to mid 60s (like 66) novas which were a 4 door.

Hey guys i have an interesting well uhhh oddity to add to this what about an american muscle civic you know beefed up with a 350 such as the one i have there is a lot of things you have to do to make it run right and not pull the frame in half but if you are looking for a good project that is one we are still working on the one i have but expect to have it finished by 08 in which you guys will surely see me in the rally pushing that 350 down a long open stretch of road with the straight pipes roaring

Well in truth old camaros aren't muscle cars, they are pony cars...Chevelles, nova's, darts, those are muscle.

...but if I can get my '68 camaro together in time that will likely be in the rally.

I suggest not talking trash on your second post. I took this car on last years rally, so it is there for everyone to see. Why are you dropping a 350ci in a civic? It would be alot easier and cheaper to drop that motor in a Chevette if you wanted a small car with a V8. Turbo's are also good options for the civic. Since the 350ci will weigh as much as the rest of the car.

200R4 with a 2800 stall. The speeds I was goin last year, I would rather be in the STi again. Also, I don't like to put anything lower than 93 in it. It does get better MPG than the STi though.

I almost bought a GN...but I'm a Ford Guy...and needed the 5 speed RWD...

So Thunderbird SC it is...and will be...

The GN's and SC's were really close in HP...within 20 or so....depending...but I have yet to see a GN in a 5 speed...
