Default Anyone get a discount on a V1?

Can anyone get a deal on a V1? I figured it was finally about time I get my own to keep the LaserStar unit company. Thanks!

Yeah, refurb units are a good deal. Won't get much more than that off, even buying a used one. I got one for $325 like 7 years ago. Ended up trading it in on a new slim model a year or two ago.

Call up V1 and ask for a returned/refurbished unit you get 10% off, but you have to wait maybe up to 2 weeks max for the detector. You get the most up to date version V1 and the same warranty
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't purchase a V1 unless its from Valentine Research(no ebay, no craig's list) cause even though you may think you are getting a deal to upgrade the detector to the most current version will most likely to over $400(what you could of paid for brand new one)

Correctly its a 'returned V1' people usually return the V1 after trying it out for 30days. Its a way people can compare radar detectors

Strange we(people at radardetector.net) thought they would get rid of it. I'll search over on the forums there to see what its really called

I got mine for $375 on ebay. it was new and it was the 1.8 version. If you do get one use...make sure it is the 1.8. they also have 1.7 but it is older technology. You can send it back to Valentine to be updated but I think that cost $100. With the $375 I paid on ebay, it was used lightly twice. In the box, remote display, extra wires and mounts. Well worth it. I think theyre 450 on the website and they dont really sell in any stores.

good luck!

If anybody is interested, I have my V1 with the carrying case and remote display, hasn't been hardwired so everything is intact. It is a 1.8 and I would be willing to sell it for $325 shipped or picked up locally in Bronx, New York.
