Default What is it with all the Bimmers?

Just curious really. I love Bimmers myself. They look great and have superior performance. There seems to be a hundred Bimmers on the AKA. With all the great cars out there what makes a lot of you guys/girls go with the BMW?

I agree. They aren't the fastest but great all around combo of comfort, performance, reliability, style, etc...

True. They are a great all around car. I would like a real old BMW 2002. do a motor swap. I forget the name of the engine that will drop right in (it has a different head, around 200 hp). That would be a cool little car. mabey not great highway though. haha

M10 turbo, it's what the BMW F1 turbo car was based on Somehow I dont think anyone here will be able to make it output 1800+hp at 83psi though.... yay for qualifying trim!

I love the supercharged S52 in my M, I definately did not have trouble keeping up with anyone and it had great pull even in 5th and great ride comfort.

my only complaint was a blown speaker:-p

That car was built by Pat Philpot in FL. He has a few other FI BMWs as well.

Funny thing is, Pat sold that car to that seller this past summer or so for about half the price. Pat just wanted it gone for what it was actually worth, not what some fool would pay for it.

I purchased my first BMW last week. 95 740I and now I am already regretting it. LOTS of little things have been going wrong with it. Not to mention the millions of sensors everywhere that always have something to tell me everytime I start the car or shut it down.

A lot of the BMW cars that were produced during and before 2001 have problems with the electrical system. Happened to my dad's 1998 5 series. He went out and bought a CLK320. Hate that car...

I actually like my BMW alot, but there are soooooo... many little things that can and will go wrong with it. I lost my ABS sensor in the right rear wheel tonight so I have no speedometer, or traction control.

Traction control? You mean my right foot? If you need traction control to drive you have no business driving.
