Seriously, how do I even respond to someone so ridiculously ignorant? Anyone? I feel like I'm arguing with a 6 yr old over whether the Easter Bunny is real and she just keeps saying uh HUH.
Fanboy: How I represent myself here?? You got some balls making a statement like that with your history. Honestly, how tiring is it to have to respond to so many people about how yes, you are cool and they can't possibly think otherwise and have an IQ above 75.

You really should have shut up a few posts ago. Before you were looking ridiculous. Now you look stupid:

"Many Corvette enthusiasts have gone as fast as 180 mph during this event, so decide before getting on the Expressway if this is for you. Fortunately, the Expressway is closed down to other drivers during this time."
Want pictures? Video? What else before you realize that when you don't know shit about something, you have absolutely no authority to comment on it?

Unlike a BMW or Corvette my car has zero creature comoforts (well if you include the great windows), no fit and finish, and it does everything in its power to kill me. So the runs are interesting.

Thank you. I experienced a very similar window issue with a previous car, a 2003 Corvette Z06. Right around 170MPH the wind noise inside the car became incredibly loud and I realized that the windows seemed to be actually pulling away from their seal against the roof letting air in. That car would bounce its rev limiter in 5th gear at an indicated 179mph (supposedly 175mph actual speed) on the heads up display, then lose speed if shifted into 6th because it fell off the powerband.

Thanks! It did feel pretty stable, but then again that was a very nice road too... I'd hate to see what happens if you hit a bump going that fast!
I seem stupid? Dude you really are the most delusional person I've come into contact with. You post a video of yourself doing an attempt at 200 mph on a public road with cars on it not aware of your intentions and yet I look stupid? Obviously the State police didn't shut down all on ramps if there were other cars on the road.
You trying to justify how you were right to attempt 200mph on a public highway is just a joke.
And who the fuck do you think you are to delegate who has authority to comment on a post your made on a public forum.

The fact that New Jersey state police would allow hundreds and hundreds of Corvettes to speed down the parkway at dangerous speeds is obsurd to me and taking advantage of that opportunity to try and hit 200mph is simply foolish. I only hope that most of the drivers had a litle more common sense and refraned from driving wrecklessly and endangering the others on the toys for tots runs and even the opposing traffic for that matter.
I just called the Newtown police and asked if I could do a high speed run with just a few regular civilian cars that may already be on the road and some vettes with every intersection blocked off and they said no. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY SAID NO! Then I said that I know Plabs and they are going to let it happen. Only thing is that they want you to mount a rail gun on top of their undercover Explorer. Deal?

hmmm.....
Intersting post from the Toys for Tots original forum
Quote:
My wife and I drove up from Northern Virginia for our first Toys for Tots Run 2009 this past weekend. It was a great turn out. I am not sure the State Troopers were able to keep all regular traffic off the expressway as originally planned. This may have led to the slower pace. We were around 40 cars from the front and were doing between 35-40mph until the first toll booth. Not only that but everyone was kept in the right lane only! This was very disappointing as that lane has settling groves from traffic and made it difficult to run a true line at times. We managed to pick the speed after that and cruised at approximately 90-100mph. This was an improvement but I was looking forward to feeling my car at higher speeds. I spent the money to have it reprogrammed for high speeds but the Troopers kept the front of the pack loaded in all 3 lanes at around 90mph or less! I am sure it was due to regular traffic being on the road.I dropped back a couple of times and did short runs but by the time I hit 130 for a split secong before I had to apply the brakes.
I won't state my opnion here, I am only relating the facts as put out by another participant. Also, someone else said the road was damp.
Is this the new and improved group of AKA rally guys now?
A little envy in this group?
The balls on some of you guys here getting on this guy for a doing a high speed attempt on a public road.....
God forbid no one here would do anything like that, right? We all drive the speed limit?
I've seen everyone here except for the guys from 2008+ all drive like asses including myself. We're talking 160-180mph runs. Ten to fifteen cars at a time, running through traffic, around traffic, on the shoulders and so on.....
So I know this can't really come from a feel of entitlement rather some penis envy seems more appropriate.
Really, say you don't like the guy or something. But don't criticize a guy for something that everyone on this board has done which is drive dangerously on public roads.
Hey Paul,
I think the main issue (for me anyway) is that it's a bit unbelievable that the NJHP would shut down the AC expressway for a bunch of vette guys to get up to 200mph. There's clearly a pickup truck in the video anyway.
Yes, we are all guilty of hitting some obnoxious speeds on the road, but we hit those higher speeds out west on deserted, straight lane roads, with few and far between entrance/off ramps. You know! You've been there with us. You know how the roads/traffic differs between east coast and the mid-west. Sure, they are still not your ideal conditions (ideal is bonneville) but it's a far cry from doing it on a saturday morning on the expressway.
So if that part of the story isn't credible, you have to wonder what else is...
Also...I've met SO many people that claim higher speeds on their cars. It's just laughable. It's not envy. It's a result of doing top speeds runs on the salt flats and watching a lot of people go up against 3miles and a radar gun and not an erroneous speedometer. Anyone remember a certain person ARGUING with the radar gun?
