Default 152 in a 65...

Hey, I know I haven't posted in a while but my college work is really taking up the majority of my time. But now I come to you guys in need of help and would really appreciate it if you gave me some advice of what to do. Thanks in advance to all those that help!

I recieved a ticket by one of the lovely state troopers on my way to corpus on sat night at 10:21pm. He clocked me @ 152mph, and he told me that he chased after me for a little over 12 miles to catch up. I can't believe that I slowed down for him!!!! My Valentine 1 dectector didn't give me enough warning, and I should have dropped it, floored it, and gotten my ass off of the highway! Well, he found me hiding in front of an 18 wheeler and pulled me over. He was yelling full force at me the entire time...I guess I deserve it...and told me to step out of the car and put my hands behind my back and began to read my rights...only thing I could do was laugh. But, right as he was about to cuff me, he got a call on the loud speaker saying something and then all units please respond. I was filled with so much joy when he said, "Shit, not now..." He ended up letting me go and writing me a ticket for 96 in a 65! I am considering this my 9th live and will most likely be concluding my darkest chapter of my life, especially if my mom trades in my car like she has promised. Now I have a big fight on my hands to get this ticket thrown out of court, anyone have any ideas of how to get it eliminated? Any loop holes? All information is very helpful! Thanks!

I am searching for ANY way out of this ticket, because I now have to take out my own insurance policy, parents are kicking me off, and will have a hard time affording it first off, then having a ticket on top of that, I won't be able to work enough. So, my only way to protect my future is to stop speeding and racing and eliminate this ticket and continue with my school work. I never thought that I would ever mature and say that above...ever, but I guess I have. This immature shit is over for me, and I now only have the memories to reflect on now...

shoulda woulda coulda... what were you driving?

As far as getting this thrown out... I don't know about that. Best bet would be to hire an attorney and they'll probably get it reduced, a lot. I've gotten a 92 in a 65 reduced to a 68 in a 65 with my attorney, and a friend of mine had a possesion charge reduced to a turn signal violation because his lawyer played golf with the prosecutor.

Good luck.

I thought your Cobalt was totalled?

Scan of ticket or ban.

No, it was ALMOST totalled but the insurance company decided to it was slightly cheaper to fix it, instead of replacing it. But as for the picture of the ticket, I am fine with taking a picture of it and posting it. I will do later this evening, as soon as I get home from school.

So, is the lawyer route, does that usually cost more, than 1,000 dollars?

Oh, and I was driving the little Cobalt again, just got caught this time...that is going to be part of my defense, that I drive a Cobalt, just not going to mention what model...

Top Speed 143mph.

This story is total bull shit. More likely, you were going 93 in a 65, he clocked you, you pulled over shaking like a bitch rather than laughing, and he gave you a ticket and screamed at you for a bit then went on his way. No calling all cars, etc.

Making up shit to feel like "part of the group" or be "accepted" or "cool" = fucking stupid.

I think a cobalt supercharged or not, will be shaking uncontrolably at those speeds if it can even reach over 140, like mike said. It's still a bottom end chevy.

Default Well if you are so smart...

Ok, here are the pics you requested, and while some of you feel all high and mighty, thinking that you have finally proven me wrong, think again. Since our last discussion, I have purchased and had my stage 2 kit installed. This pushes my top speed higher than stock, which is what you have posted.

And one thing you are correct about, is that it does have some shaking, but not what you are describing and I love it when people like you guys underestimate things.

also, the suspension on th ss/sc cobalts was tuned on the nurimburging, probably incorrect spelling, so it isn't too bad at all out speeds. Now, I wouldn't take it past 160 though because it does in fact need a more tweaking. The Cobalts are underated, the stats which say they run a 14.8 in the 1/4, when there are many people on Cobaltss.net that have ran theirs and pulled 14.3 bone stock. I am not mad at you guys, I haven't been around to prove my case in a while and it does look suspicious, but now I have. Oh, and I am not saying my car is a "sports car" or is faster than anyone elses, I am just saying that at second glance, they are better than expected. I will see if I can find my magazines with the articles about the Cobalt SS Supercharged. It suprisingly beats some good cars around the track.
In a nutshell, don't judge a book by its cover...

All I hear is WAHHHHHHHH.

Hey look, a photo of it at 146mph, hmm wonder if he's on the electronic limiter. I wouldnt be surprised if the cobalt was aero limited to be honest.

Hey look, it's a ticket for 96, aka the speed he clocked you at. Your story reaks of bull shit. You have a history of lieing on this forum, and usually come up with half assed proof which only validates the parts of a story we believe are already true. Seriously, stop making stories up, it's not amusing, it doesnt endear you, it's really just annoying.

GM says that didn't need to limit the car because it comes with Z rated tires.

Gearing wise with a .7:1 5th gear and a 4.05 final drive....it is possible. Gear wise at least. According to my charts, assuming he had the power and wasn't drag limited he could hit 175 on the stock 18's @ 6500rpm. Even looking at that picture its got room to move with enough power I suppose....

Keep in mind this doesn't take alot of factors into account, like the factor that you would need to be a bloody idiot to attempt it in this car. I mean at least the J/O in the Neon was trying to race someone. You have already tempted fate once, why go back for more?

P.S. I'm not on either side here.

I haven't lied on this forum, EVER. The insurance company decided to fix it...Anyways, that is not what this post is about, start another one if you want. It looks like this will be my last attempt at fate because my mom said on the phone that when she gets back that she is going to trade the car in...damn...so I am going to the strip and beating the shit out of it before she does so. I will probably see if I can persuade her to let me get a mid to late 90's bmw. Like a 99 7 series. So, back on topic, anyone got any ideas of how to get this ticket dismissed?

Dude, you really need to read EVERYTHING over again and you will see that you are wrong. You said that it is aero limited, well, if you would have watched the video from streetfire then you would have found out that you are incorrect sir.

Back to the picture, the fastest the stock ones are able to go is 143-144, depending on your source, and the picture shows faster than that, and you just stated above that the one in the picture is at 146. That proves that he isn't on the limiter if he is past it, right??? Think things over before you type them and sound stupid...lol

Before this turns into even more of a shitfest than it already has, I think that we can all agree that stock speedos are totally inaccurate.

Good luck with the ticket, but you may want to check another more specific forum for advice on fighting it.

Chris
